On Wednesday, a day after the Ravens traded against running back Packers Ty Montgomey, coach John Harbaugh was asked about the similarities between the racing game of his attack and that of Green Bay. He said that he did not know.
On Friday, after three days of training that allowed him to become more familiar with the new player on the team, Harbaugh had a better understanding of how Montgomery would fit into the Ravens' power play.
"The good thing is that the terminology is a bit similar," he said. "Not exactly, there are always different terms, but the systems are rooted in the same kind of background, so he has a very good understanding of the parts."
That bodes well for Montgomery's chances of playing his first game in Baltimore, even though Alex Collins, Buck Allen and Gus Edwards are active last Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
Montgomery could also be part of the team's special teams, since he has scored 10 shots for 210 yards in seven games for the Packers this season. He, however, escaped his last contact with the Packers, and the decision to play the last shot of sending the Los Angeles Rams out of the end zone during a 29-27 loss may have him to be cost in Green Bay. But Harbaugh said Montgomery "will have no problem" with the task of the special teams.
"We'll just have to see how the numbers work," he said.

Quarterback Robert Griffin III was announced on Friday as the Ravens' nominee for USAA's "Salute to Service Award".
This award, presented annually by USAA and the NFL, honors a member of the league who demonstrates exemplary commitment to honor and support the military community.
The finalists of the prize are announced in January. The winner will be honored at the NFL Honors Awards ceremony in Atlanta on February 2, on CBS, the day before the Super Bowl.
