Tesla makes its 100,000th model 3

Tesla is catching up.

The electric car manufacturer has long struggled to follow the orders of its latest electric sedan, the Model 3, but this week has reached an important milestone: 100,000 cars produced.

That figure came just a year and a half after Tesla started producing the car. Its sedan, model S and SUV, model X has not approached this type of production in such a short time.

This achievement comes after a difficult year in production, Tesla having missed its objectives and overcome several obstacles. Tesla has generally caught up with Mercedes-Benz sales in the third quarter, according to MarketWatch. This represents 64,727 Tesla sold against 66,542 Mercedes vehicles. Tesla offers its models X and S, as well as the model 3, more affordable.

The increase in Tesla orders comes before Monday's cut of a heavy federal tax credit. Car orders made before Monday are eligible for a $ 7,500 refund, while anyone buying a Tesla can get $ 3,750. After mid-2019, the credit was reduced to $ 1,875 before disappearing entirely.

The delivery of all these vehicles is another story and CEO Elon Musk apologized.
