Tesla pulls the veil of the software version 9 update

The long-awaited 9th version of the Tesla software was announced on Friday and is now available to customers. In view of the things, the wait was worth it.

What's new in this major overhaul? Well, tons actually, but let's start with the Tesla app. First of all, You're here will now allow you to launch a software update via its application, no longer forcing you to be in the car, which is very convenient.

The app will also allow you to send navigation information from your phone to the car using the Share button of your favorite map application. Finally, your passengers can control the media in the car with their phone – unless you close them, you dictator radio!

Tesla vehicle software updates bring new features to Teslas of all ages, including Model 3.

Dashcam mode officially became official thing as long as your car was built with Hardware v2.5 (that is, after August 2017). The system allows you to record sequences on a USB drive while driving the vehicle. From the images we have seen, the footage is not surprising (nor in color), but it's still cool.

Another big problem with Autopilot hardware is that, with version 9, the eight Autopilot cameras are used, allowing you to see 360 degrees around your vehicle. Blind spot monitoring benefits from a significant upgrade as it now uses mirror cameras in addition to ultrasonic sensors and transmits an image of these cameras to the center screen. We also appreciate the fact that Tesla has added more visualisations for vehicles in the autopilot, so the system now differentiates cars, big trucks and motorcycles.

Navigate autopilot is not yet available, but version 9 lays the groundwork for future updates. Regular navigation, however, gets some adjustments. The S and X models have improved route information in their central displays, including highway exits. Model 3 moves the instructions step by step to the left of the screen. Owners can also choose whether their car can use the carpool lane and the navigation system will take this into account when calculating routes.

Air conditioning is also updated. For S and X models, you can now control all your air conditioning functions, including seat and steering heaters, from a single screen. No need to browse the menus. On model 3, you can adjust the temperature inside the vehicle by sliding the temperature control setting to the left and right.

Finally, the last big change is called conscious acceleration of obstacles. This essentially limits the amount of acceleration that your vehicle will allow if its sensors detect an object in its path at low speeds.

Tesla also throws in some Atari arcade games like Easter eggs that can be accessed while in Park, but people will have to find them, and Tesla does not say what games they are. We hope Pitfall! Make an appearance.

Tesla Model 3 Performance: A high price to pay for impressive performances.

Tesla model 3 long range: Prefer to go far, but at a slow pace? This one is for you.
