Tesla said its mid-size sedan, model 3, was the least likely to cause injury to a vehicle ever tested by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
Tesla's cars praised safety and performance, but they were also scrutinized. For example, the NHTSA and the National Traffic Safety Board each investigated Tesla's Automated Driving Assistance System, Autopilot, as a result of accidents occurring in Tesla vehicles while the system was activated.
Shares of the company traded down 3.3% Monday at the noon trading session.
