After a good start to week 1, the SEC has another upcoming non-conference match this week, along with some intriguing clashes with SEC East.

Last week, the SEC was 13-1, including some impressive victories that highlighted the strength of the conference, especially in the West.

Here is an overview of the best scenarios for the second week:

Jimbo Fisher vs. Clemson … again

New Texas A & M coach Jimbo Fisher is certainly familiar with Clemson.

"The good news is that you know," he said. "The bad news is that you know."

Fisher won his first win with Aggies last week with a 59-7 win over FCS Northwestern State's opponent. This is the first real test for Fisher's Aggies, and the first chance for fans to see how close Texas A & M is to Clemson # 2.

The SEC game begins

The battle for SEC East officially kicks off on Saturday, starting with the afternoon meeting in Georgia with No. 24 in South Carolina. The Bulldogs devastated SEC East last season, scoring more than 40 points in every division game except a 24-10 victory over South Carolina. Georgia is favored by 10 at this year's meeting.

Is this the year Kentucky finally beats Florida? Florida defender Chauncey Gardner-Johnson does not think so. The Gators rank 25th after an easy 53-6 victory over Charleston Southern in Dan Mullen's debut, while Kentucky had to resist a heavy first semester in sales in central Michigan. But there is a lot of confidence in Lexington, which should make the meeting of Saturday night in the marsh interesting.

Joe Burrow's pre-game meal

Here are some very important news about a quarterback from the SEC West (and no, we're not talking about Tau Tagovailoa): LSU quarterback Joe Burrow is eating caramel apple squirts before the game.

Is there a way to add Cajun flavor to the treat? Glenn Guillbeau and Kevin Foote of Lafayette Daily Advertiser gave it a try.

It's worth watching

South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw started 10 games last season in defensive tackle and started the season with five tackles in total against Coastal Carolina. But his trip to Colombia was not easy. Kinlaw was once homeless and, after struggling during high school, took advantage of a second chance at Jones County Junior High School in Ellisville, Mississippi.

SEC on tape

Coaches are not the only ones to dive deeply into the game movie during the week. USA Today Network journalists are also cutting the tape. Here's what they've noticed this week:

Auburn red zone offense: Auburn scored when needed in a 21-16 win over Washington last week, but a closer look at each record shows that there is still plenty to do.

Vanderbilt's defense: The Commodores collected six sacks in their 35-7 win over the MTSU, led by two bags from Kenny Hebert.

Tyson Helton, offensive coordinator of the UT: Tennessee struggled in their first game under Helton, but there was still much to learn about UT's offensive leadership in a 40-14 loss to West Virginia.
