A director of Lufkin was put on administrative leave after being suspected of making a comment on Facebook, describing the United States as "resembling Mexico and South America" with citizens "sentenced to live in a dirty country ".
William Dugat was the eighth grade director of Lufkin Middle School, according to the school's website.
"We do not support or condone his actions or comments," Lifkin spokesperson ISD Sheila Adams told Lufkin Daily News.
On Thursday, a woman posted a photo of her with Beto O 'Rourke, who was doing a campaign stop in the East Texas city.
A user by the name of William Dugat commented: "I'm afraid that the United States does look like Mexico and South America with so many illegal aliens welcomed."
Community members joined the debate on Facebook, providing support for and against the principal.
"How can he adequately meet the needs of his non-white students as an open and proud racist?" Melissa Childs asked.
"He supports the law of the land," wrote James Pyle. "How is this reason for suspension?"
