A Texas man shot and killed his wife while their three children watched them on Thursday morning, before committing suicide while he was trying to commit suicide, the police said.
Daryl Stegall, 32, began banging on the door of 30-year-old Kishana Jeffers in Lewisville around 11 am, the Dallas Morning News reported.
Stegall, who does not live in the apartment, kicked the door when he was not let in and fired at Jeffers before going to a covered walkway and killing himself. said Lewisville Police Captain Dan Rochelle.
He was taken to a hospital in an unknown state. Children ages 7, 9 and 10 witnessed the shooting and fled the apartment without being injured, reported the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
They met with child protection workers as a result of the shooting.
