A 14th suspect was arrested on Sunday when a 15-year-old boy was murdered outside a cellar in the Bronx in June.

Frederick Then, 20, went to the police during the assassination of Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz on June 20, which captivated the nation for its brutality and seemingly mistaken identity of the victim.

He was later charged with murder, manslaughter, two counts of assault, conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon.

While the police walked outside, he told reporters: "I am innocent".

A video shows the teenager who was dragged out of the bodega and attacked by a gang of five men who stabbed him with knives and hacked him with a machete while he was there. struggled to defend himself.

The boy was injured in his neck and died after running to a hospital three blocks away. Thirteen other suspects were arrested on the death of the teenager; all are alleged members of gangs.

Guzman-Feliz was part of the NYPD Explorers program, a group of young people interested in a career in law enforcement. The New York City Police Foundation has announced plans to create a stock exchange on its behalf.

The authorities say they do not believe that Guzman-Feliz was affiliated with a gang.

It was not immediately clear if Then had a lawyer.
