The ongoing drama between Veon Bell and the Pittsburgh Steelers will be completed soon. Even though there is only a week left before Bell's deadline for reporting, the result is not yet clear.
If Bell wants to play football in 2018, he must inform the club by November 13th. At a little over a week from this deadline, Bell sent out an encrypted tweet on Monday that might or might not indicate that he is now heading to Pittsburgh.
It's hard to interpret two words, especially when one of them is not even a word (I think he meant to say goodbye), but Bell seems to indicate that he finally left Miami after passing the last few months to train in South Beach.
If he leaves Miami, does that mean he's finally heading to Pittsburgh? For the moment, it is not clear.
Jason La Canfora, a CBS Sports insider in the NFL, reported on Sunday that Bell still has not told the Steelers when or where he plans to report. However, the collective agreement contains a deadline: if it does not sign the franchise label before 4 pm. AND on November 13, then he will not be eligible to play in the NFL this season. If this happens, he will lose all his salary of $ 14.5 million (he has already lost more than half after spending the first nine weeks of the season).
The only drawback of Bell is that its popularity has dropped in Pittsburgh in recent weeks. Mike Tomlin seemed tired enough to talk about the situation when he was asked about Bell Sunday.

What's embarrassing for Bell, is that no one seems to be happy about his potential return. The players clearly do not seem happy and if the reaction of Twitter indicates, Steelers fans would prefer Conner.
The Steelers will play Thursday against the Panthers. Although Bell will report this week, he will certainly not be on the field against Carolina, which means that his first potential match with the Steelers would be in the 11th week against the Jaguars. Coincidentally, it would be the same Jags team that Bell had faced the last time he was on the field in January.
