The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner found the way to On April 21, Verne Troyer died of a suicide, although the physical cause was after effects of alcohol intoxication.

The autopsy report released on Wednesday indicates that the star "Austin Powers" has drowned.

Dr. Martina Kennedy, assistant medical examiner, wrote that Troyer, 49, "would have suicidal thoughts" and would have "a history of depression and chronic alcohol use with a recent relapse".

She noted that no post-mortem toxicology test had been performed because of her hospitalization the week of her death.

Kennedy concluded: "According to history and circumstances, as is currently known, the mode of death is suicide."

Troyer's death occurred less than a week after his hospitalization for an undisclosed medical emergency and almost exactly one year after his last stay in rehab.

Troyer, 49, has always been outspoken about his fight against alcoholism, documented by the VH1 reality show "The Surreal Life" in 2005.

In an article posted on Instagram in April 2017, he wrote: "I have already fought against alcoholism and although it is not always an easy fight, I am willing to continue my fight day-to-day" .

A statement issued by Troyer's family after his death describes him as a "fighter in his own fights." Over the years, he has struggled and won, fought and won, fought and fought more, but unfortunately this time was too much. "
