Week 4 of the NFL 2018 did not disappoint either its shocks or its surprises. There was a ton, including some major changes in the playoff picture.

That's why the NFL is so great, despite its flaws. Always expect the unexpected. So, what are the points to remember from Sunday's action this week? It starts with a young QB who pulls a monkey from his back.
Mitch Trubisky uses Bucs as a punching bag to vent his frustration
One week was Deshaun Watson. The next was Patrick Mahomes, then Jared Goff, then Baker Mayfield. The quarterback of the Bears, Mitch Trubisky, hears for months saying that these other players play well. Why can not he look more like them? To his credit, he never showed frustration and was not the victim of interviews. He simply continued the process and continued to work. He finally had the chance to silence everyone with six touchdown passes on the besieged Tampa Bay Buccaneers, including five in the first period. It was a clinic and the first glimpse of its potential.
The Patriotes put Miami back in their place
Everyone was shocked that the Dolphins went 3-0 on the season. Could they be the surprise team of 2018? A game in Foxborough against the Patriots, as always, would tell the story. As usual, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick reminded them which rank to belong to. New England smothered Miami in a 38-7 rout. Tennessee may lack polish but they have tons of grain
Nothing the Titans did in the first month of the season was good. They have mastered the art of winning after a 26-23 overtime win over the Eagles. Marcus Mariota was superb in tough conditions and delivered several conversions at the 4th drop on the winning player of the match. Head coach Mike Vrabel deserves a lot of credit for preparing his team so well.
Ezekiel Elliott is the Cowboys' offensive. All
Where would the world be in Dallas without Ezekiel Elliott? The young runner carried the attack on his back this week and won the victory. Not only did he run for 152 yards against the Lions, he also caught four passes for 88 yards and one touchdown. Detroit had no answer for him and in the end it cost them the match in 26-24. Dallas may be an imperfect team, but they have a real star in Elliott.
Frank Reich lost the battle but may have won over his players loss
Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich has been heavily criticized for his attempt to extend the score in overtime, instead of rowing the ball to support the Houston Texans. Indeed, the decision was returned against Deshaun Watson who pushed his team to land a goal on the field. It was a difficult defeat for Reich, but he did not seem at all sorry for his decision. He stated that the reason he had acted was that he was training to win. This may not seem like much, but his players will appreciate it.
Jon Gruden got his win but continues look for for his defense
Derek Carr deserved the match ball in many ways, as he shot Jon Gruden's buttocks out of the heat with a 45-42 thriller win over the Cleveland Browns. Otherwise, the veteran coach could be even more crucified for his disconcerting decision to exchange Khalil Mack, who continues to dominate in Chicago. Without him, the Raiders' defense only seems to get worse as the season progresses. Gruden would be better off hoping that they could somehow fix it or at least stop the bleeding.
The saints now look like the favorites of the NFC
For a second, it seemed that the Saints of New Orleans were regressing to their old habits of great offensive and second-rate defense. However, they seem to have stabilized and converted to the team that seemed so dangerous last season. They proved it again with a dominant victory over the Giants in the Meadowlands. Their attack was great, as usual, while the defense blocked Eli Manning for most of the afternoon. They are in a throat and suddenly in the NFC driver's seat.
