BOSTON (AP) – Carlos Correa clinched a tiebreaker in the eighth inning and the Houston Astros won their sixth straight game by defeating the Boston Red Sox 6-3 on Friday night. a match against the leaders of the AL division.

Ohtani, in the lineup as a designated hitter, has four home runs in his last three games. Before the match against the White Sox, Ohtani said he planned to finish the season as DH and that he has not decided yet whether he would be operated on by Tommy John.

Andrelton Simmons added a solo shot in the seventh and Felix Pena threw seven innings to help the Angels win for the third time in their last four games. Pena (2-4) allowed two points by scattering seven strokes and walking none. The right fanned six.

Avisail Garcia hit a solo shot as Chicago DH after missing four games with a sore knee. Omar Narvaez led in a race with one. Carlos Rodon of Chicago (6-5) lasted only 4 2/3 innings.

PHILLIES 4, METS 3

NEW YORK (AP) – Rhys Hoskins hit a tiebreaker circuit in the eighth inning to win Aaron Nola, and Philadelphia beat New York.

Carlos Santana scored twice for the Phillies, who beat Atlanta by two and a half games at NL East. The Braves from first place lost 5-3 to Arizona.

Nola (16-4) eliminated eight innings in seven innings to tie Washington ace Max Scherzer to lead the National League in wins. These two men are in a close race with Jacob deGrom, star of the Mets, for the NL Cy Young Award, and Nola helped his cause with deGrom sitting in the opposite dugout.

The right-hander followed one and allowed three hits, including Dominic Smith's seventh inning. Hoskins joined Tyler Bashlor (0-3), finishing eighth in his 28th home game.

Seranthony Dominguez had a perfect run and Tommy Hunter had three outs for his fourth stop, while the Philadelphia bullpen quickly did the Mets' job.

RAYS 14, ORIOLES 2

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) – Blake Snell tied for first place in the major league with his 18th game, Nick Ciuffo and Kevin Kiermaier were beaten three times on the all-round and Tampa Bay defeated Baltimore.

Snell (18-5) equaled Corey Kluber of Cleveland to take the lead in the major league after allowing two runs, five hits and nine shots on goal in five innings and one-third.

Tommy Pham had a run in the fifth and Ji-Man Choi hit a grand slam in the sixth to help the Rays win their winning streak. Tampa Bay has won 14 of 17 games.

Baltimore dropped to 41-100, the third season of 100 losses since the team left St. Louis after the 1953 season. Dylan Bundy (7-14) was the loser.

BLUE JAYS 3, INDIANS 2, 11 INNINGS

TORONTO (AP) – Kevin Pillar hit a solo circuit in late 11th after AL MVP contender Jose Ramirez found himself in the lead, allowing Toronto to beat Cleveland.

Pillar's second career home race was led by right-winger Adam Cimber (3-6). It was the 12th circuit of the season of Pillar. Pillar had reached the third goal with two outs in the ninth, but Neil Ramirez sent the match to extra innings by flying Richard Urena.

Yan Gomes has completed a solo home run for the Indians, with a magic number of seven to clinch their third consecutive Central AL title. Cleveland charged the bases with two outs in 11th, but Danny Barnes (3-2) released Jake Petricka and allowed Ramirez to take the second goal.

The right-back of the Indians, Carlos Carrasco, equaled a record of the season by eliminating 14 innings in eight innings.

BREWERS 4, GIANTS 2

MILWAUKEE (AP) – Jesus Aguilar scored twice in the seventh inning to lead Milwaukee after San Francisco.

Aguilar sent a 0-0 shot to Tony Watson in the right field to score Curtis Granderson and Eric Thames. Hunter Strickland (3-5) started the seventh and hit the batters. Watson picked one up later.

The Brewers pushed their lead 1 to 1 against St. Louis.

Josh Hader (5-1) had two innings of goal-less relief and won. Joakim Soria got an eighth place finish and Jeremy Jeffress took the ninth place, winning his ninth stop.

TIGERS 5, CARDINALS 3

DETROIT (AP) – Jeimer Candelario hit a two-run homer with a draw in the ninth inning, lifting Detroit against St. Louis.

The Tigers won their third consecutive game. Marcell Ozuna traded twice for St. Louis, who lost four of six. The Cardinals hold a slim lead for second place in NL's wild card.

Rookie Victor Reyes defeated Jordan Hicks (3-4) with a withdrawal and Candelario followed with a practice in the center of the tigers on the left. Detroit striker Shane Greene (3-6) finished ninth without a goal.

PIRATES 5, MARLINS 3

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Jordan Luplow hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning, Josh Bell also shot twice and Pittsburgh beat Miami.

Kevin Kramer took part in his first career race with a double in the seventh, which was 3-3. Luplow then conceded a 1-2 offer against reliever Tayron Guerrero (1-3) for his third trip. Kramer had his first major league win earlier in the game while making his first big league start.

Richard Rodriguez (4-2) started a scoreless run. Felipe Vazquez worked the ninth for his 31st stop.

Trevor May (4-1), one of Minnesota's six substitutes, won with two shutouts.

Salvador Perez slammed and Jorge Bonifacio had three hits for the Royals.

Minnesota broke a 6-6 tie with a fifth time. Max Kepler and Adrianza had points in singles against Glenn Sparkman (0-3). Rosario scored in his 23rd home race leading to eighth place.

REDS 12, PADRES 6

CINCINNATI (AP) – Scott Schebler's grand slam set a record for the Reds season, and Phillip Ervin made it twice as Cincinnati beat San Diego.

Schebler joined Rowan Wick in the sixth for the 10th Cincinnati Grand Slam of the season, setting a club record and placing the Reds at 10-4. Ervin had a solo circuit and a two-run shot, the first multi-homer match of his career. The start was delayed by 2 hours and 37 minutes because of the rain.

Michael Lorenzen (3-1) was the winner and Matt Strahm (3-4) lost.

DODGERS 4, ROCKIES 2

DENVER (AP) – Clayton Kershaw has amassed six solid runs, Kenta Maeda finished ninth in place of All-Star striker Kenley Jansen as Los Angeles settles in a half-match of Colorado, NL's leader Where is.

Kershaw (7-5) defeated the Rockies and allowed two runs and six hits. Yasiel Puig slammed and got a RBI single for the Dodgers.

Jansen did not make the trip after a team cardiologist advised him not to get high after suffering an episode of an irregular heartbeat in Denver last month.

Oakland won for the fourth time in five games in total and seventh in eight games against Texas.

The A remain three and a half games in Houston, first place in the West Division, and three and a half years less than the New York Yankees, for the first wild card of the AL. They played 6 ½ games in front of Seattle for the second wild card.

Texas lost for the eighth time in 11 games.

DIAMONDBACKS 5, BRAVES 3

PHOENIX (AP) – Paul Goldschmidt scored his 33rd home game and Arizona held out in Atlanta in a clash between the two eliminated teams.

The Braves, leaders of East NL, lost for the fourth time in five games and had the advantage over Philadelphia, cutting to 2 1/2 games.

The Diamondbacks, who had lost five of their six defeats, moved inside a game and a half of Colorado at the Western summit of the League.

Goldschmidt played his ninth time in 27 games and reached the base in five games on his plate. Daniel Descalso's single in two sets has highlighted a third round of three sets.

Patrick Corbin (11-5) eliminated nine in six innings. Brad Boxberger has recovered his 32nd save.

Johan Camargo conceded the win, doubled twice and led in two sets for Atlanta.

Starter Braves Kevin Gausman (9-10) lasted 4 2-3 innings. He was charged with four runs on seven hits with four ballads and four strikeouts.
