Back Nine comes to you after a week off that included a lot of football with my dad, a perfect dive bar in St. Augustine and especially a simple decompression. Come on, this is Florida-Georgia week.

10. If you're looking for one of those hidden statistics that could give you a hint for Saturday's game, here's a juicy one for you: If Florida is to defeat Georgia, the Gators will most likely have to get rid of it. Georgia leads the nation by allowing the least games of 20 yards or more. Florida has demonstrated its ability to move channels, but what the Gators can not do is get into one of those games where they continue to play three. Or is it too obvious captain for you? The situation is even more obvious: Florida can not be outdone by 21-0 in the first 7:28 of the match as it did last year. The game was literally over at that point, though the defense did not leave more points for more than 15 minutes while Georgia was about to freeze. If you remember correctly, Jake Fromm only made four passes in the game, one in front of a receiver. But they are different teams this year. Georgia does not run like it did in 2017 with Sony Michel and Nick Chubb, but has a not so secret weapon in the quarterback Justin Fields. And of course, everything about Florida is different.
11. You never know how a team will react to an open week, but both teams had them, so it really should not make much difference. I guess the biggest difference is that Georgia just lost and Florida has five wins in a row. Some would say that LSU gave the rest of Georgia's opponents a detailed plan to defeat the Bulldogs, but I always thought that a defeat like this also gave this team a plan to improve. And that's something we'll see on Saturday, which works. When you do it like in Florida, the week off can be good or bad. "I get this question every year," said UF coach Dan Mullen. "Does a week off help or hurt? I will tell you Saturday around 19:15. I think it's undeniable that this team really needed a mental break, but the physical break did not hurt either. "It brought our legs back," linebacker Rayshad Jackson said. "It was a good time (to have a goodbye). We had to recover our bodies.
12. It looks like this football season has a bit of madness in March and it is moving forward. Sometimes being on a weekend can be the best thing that can happen to you. Florida has somehow overtaken UCF in the AP poll as the Gators were eating cheeseburgers while UCF was winning with its quarterback. I can not really explain it (I had Florida 11th on my ballot), except that I think a lot of voters are reluctant to raise the UCF much higher than the 10th because of their player. I admire what the Knights have done in the past two seasons, but do not tell me they would be better ranked if it was the SEC on the shoulders. If they were undefeated with a SEC schedule, yes. It's just different. And the UCF sequence is or should be unimportant. What last year did have nothing to do with this season.
13. Damn, Twitter has had a day on the field with Urban Meyer after this embarrassing performance against Purdue. The history of the Boilermakers was the highlight of a blazing Saturday, especially Tyler Trent. It was Purdue's superfan who managed to win despite a fierce fight against bone cancer. You take this story and Meyer's national disgust and you have the impression that 99% of the nation is rooting against the Buckeyes. Twitter went to Cheap Shot City after the match, wondering if Meyer would remember the loss, if he would delete it from his phone or it would end up in the hospital. Cruel. Meyer reported some of it, but I'm worried about this man's health. I can not help but wonder if all the drama – from Meyer's false suspension to Nick Bosa's defeat – had a definite impact on the team. The Bucks may lack leadership from top to bottom. But they are not my problem.
14. Closer to home, it's also nerve-wracking to see Nick Fitzgerald play the quarterback position that it was fascinating to watch Tua Tagovailoa play. Look, Tua (I will not try to spell twice) will win the Heisman Trophy and he is a special talent. But I wonder what Feleipe Franks or even better Drew Lock could do with all the time he has to pitch and all those receivers. It's a bit of a perfect storm on the offensive. On the other side, I give you Fitzgerald, who was 8 out of 24 for 59 yards with four interceptions against LSU. Now, LSU's defense will follow you (Franks was 12 out of 27 and a choice against Dave Aranda's group) and I can not wait to see what will happen in two weeks when this side team will face the behemoth. ;Alabama. But I wonder how much Fitzgerald misses at Mullen. The Bulldogs' season is eclipsing quickly with three losses in its last four games and Texas A & M and Alabama are still in contention.
15. By the way, there was Las Vegas Over / Under for SEC before the year. If you bet, I hope it was on LSU.
• Alabama 10.5 (look good).
• Georgia 10.5 (still in doubt).
• Auburn 8.5 (doubtful).
• Mississippi State 8.5 (questionable).
• Florida 7.5 (good bet).
• Texas A & M 7.5 (ditto).
• South Carolina 7.5 (be very nervous).
• Tennessee 6.5 (six would be a stretch).
• LSU 6.5 (no one saw it coming).
• Mississippi 6.5 (had a chance).
• Missouri 6.5 (fragile).
• Kentucky 5.5 (already cashed).
• Arkansas 5.5 (unlikely).
• Vanderbilt 4.5 (it's going to be close).
16. At least the Cleveland games are exciting. Then there is the fact that coach Hue Jackson has a score of 2-10-1 in games with three points or less. "Hard Knocks" brought my family into the Browns to the point that we almost went to Tampa to watch Sunday's game. We could have seen what could be the two most stupid teams in America. In any case, I'm running out of holes so let me finish with these quick hitters:
• Dartmouth has again won to go to 6-0. Why do you care? The coach is the former Gator assistant and a good friend, Buddy Teevens, and the placekicker is Connor Davis, the son of legend Gator Judd Davis. Harvard this week and then the big clash with Princeton.
• Valdosta State defeated the Back Nine Jins by a 44-21 win on Saturday and Kerwin Bell's team is 8-0 with a week off this week.
• Some people think it's impossible to have two favorite teams in the same sport. I do not agree. Go Sawx!
17. The tweet of the week comes from ESPN instructor Brad Edwards – "The last 4 defeats of the Ohio State have all been overtaken by more than 14 points. In 12 seasons in Alabama, Nick Saban has never lost more than 14. "That says a lot about both programs.
18. It took some amazing days to get away from the situation and recharge the batteries to get ready for the run. These next five weeks, you're back on the treadmill. This playlist should help:
• "False Confidence: Noah Kahan.
• "5 dollars" from Christine and the queens.
• "Crazy" by the villagers.
• "Keep lying" by Donna Missal.
• And for an old man, on the occasion of the celebration of this weekend, "A woman in love (it's not me)" by Thomas Earl Petty and his Heartbreakers.
