He broke two races over 60 yards and finished with 159 yards and two touchdowns in just eight runs.

Whitner was one of the team's most unselfish leaders, from his community service efforts off the field to defense to the line.
He flew over the field Friday night in his last home game, delivering some big hits and attempting an interception in the first half.

Unlike the photo above, Louisville struggled to protect the football.
The Cardinals returned four straight possessions in the first half, often offering an excellent field position in Syracuse and allowing Orange to inflate to 37-7 at halftime.
Things got so bad for the Cardinals that they turned to third-string quarterback Sean McCormack at the end of the second quarter. On his first appearance, cornerback Chris Fredrick hit him and forced a duck to fly through the air for easy interception for Kielan Whitner.
The four turnovers and 10 penalties tainted the Cardinals in the first half, continuing a season in which an ill-trained team had everything that could have gone wrong.

The ground clearance of Syracuse's defensive lineman, Josh Black, was a huge boost.
Louisville goalkeeper Blanton Creque's attempt was blocked by Black and bounced on Antwan Cordy, whose 38-yard return helped set the first touchdown of the SU, a 1-meter touchdown. Jarveon Howard.
