The best and the worst of the WWE Survivor Series

[ad_1]

WWE painted the city in red during the Survivor series in Hollywood.

"Monday Night Raw" swept "SmackDown Live" 6-0 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

(That's to say if, like the WWE, you do not count the fact that the blue mark has won the Survivor Series tag team's game at the show's coup de sending, because what happens at the sending coup show, like the team division, does not seem The announcement team even said that someone one would get an advantage from 1 to 0. Do not believe.)

This is a new low for SmackDown that tries to establish itself as equal or superior to Raw. Raw won for three consecutive years. The main event, starring Raw's Brock Lesnar and SmackDown's Daniel Bryan, embodied this feeling.

Undersized outsiders went to Suplex City early and often before fighting and helping Lesnar to participate in one of his best matches. But in the end, no matter how much Lesnar sold to Bryan, or how many times the WWE champion bet on the Yes Lock to The Beast, an F5 of too much could not be overcome. Raw, like Lesnar, was too big to fail.

The match was also a reminder that even after a heel turn, another low shot and a scary smile, Bryan can still be friendly and an outsider in the eyes of the crowd. They were behind him almost all the way.

SmackDown even threw a match when Charlotte Flair broke and hit Ronda Rousey with a kendo stick to lose by disqualification. This kept their story alive for bigger and better things – maybe WrestleMania – and opened up people's appetite for what's coming. The match and Rousey's subsequent defeat created a memorable personal problem to build upon.

The Survivor series of men also benefited from the narrative that led to it. Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre were fighting for Team Raw before the two went on. Finn Balor even kicked McIntyre, who refused to score.

World Cup participants Shane McMahon and The Miz had some time with runner-up Dolph Ziggler. McMahon, who had already struck Strowman with a nudge in the announcements table, won a second win against Ziggler a second time thanks to a Coast to Coast game. Strowman stopped McMahon's second attempt with a clothesline as part of an OK match.

The match was only about Strowman, who had been promised a World Championship game with a win. He eliminated four members of the SmackDown team (Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, Miz and McMahon – but not Samoa Joe) to allow Raw to easily win the match. Baron Corbin's Acting General Manager, with Strowman now able to hit him, got the first shot before fleeing with Bobby Lashley and McIntyre.

The women's version did what she could with the little story she had. Sasha Banks and Bayley were added to Raw's team through a backstage fight during a kick-off show that helped.

We are slowly seeing the relationship between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville crumbling. Rose eliminated her partner from the Battle of the Royal Evolution and Sunday grabbed a pin after Deville did all the work.

This match was about Jax – as it should be. She was booed hard and the WWE is running with her heat. They made him throw a "punch that breaks his mouth" during the match. Jax even knocked Banks off the top rope, sacrificing her to Asuka so she could win him for Raw and start the big night of the brand.

However, even strong stories and a great match could not save a format that has never been so broken.

Seth Rollins (Raw) on Shinsuke Nakamura (Smackdown)

The match was not crumbling, but it was as if two of the best wrestlers were trying to outdo themselves. There was caution and an upbeat early, a strong style in the middle and both late. The crowd is gradually investing despite the absence of a real scenario.

Rollins came out of a Kinshasa on the back of the head. The Kingslayer dodged the second attempt and converted it into a shot for the win. Fortunately, WWE did not play this match with Dean Ambrose, but announced that Rollins and Lunatic Fringe would be competing for the Intercontinental Championship at TLC in December.

Authors of Pain (Raw) Over The Bar (SmackDown)

WWE did a disservice to Drake Maverick by making him pee and shaking after being grabbed by the throat and restrained by Big Show. Maverick is not only a little at a disadvantage because of his size to come out with the monsters who are Bread Writers, but he is also an authority figure as the Live Commission. You just made it harder to take it seriously, which led to the victory of AOP and belittled its victory in a match that was a bit of a mess.

Usos, New Day, Good Brothers, Sanity & The Colons (SmackDown) on Bobby Roode & Chad Gable, The Ascension, Lucha House Party, B-Team and The Revival (Raw)

Gable and Roode start to be good at this team game and showed it in a game that was playing late. Gable managed to separate a German crowd from the top rope before being eliminated by The New Day. The rebirth and the usos were a last appropriate pair. Usos took it with a high elbow with a tribute to Roman Reigns. Too bad it did not count on the dashboard.

Buddy Murphy on Mustafa Ali to retain the cruiserweight title

It was not as good as their match without disqualification in July, but it was one of the most entertaining on the map. It hurt to see Murphy push Ali from the apron into the barricade and Ali sting his opponent with an inverted hurricane. The finish was OK, Murphy kneeling on a flying Ali and hitting Murphy's Law to finish it.

– The close Enzo Amore, who is currently a rapper named "nZo", was surprised by a mobile phone video escorted from the front row by security after starting to shout at the crowd during the match between The Bar and the Authors of Pain. It's probably as close to a WWE ring as it will be for a while – maybe never, now.

– Smackdown's R-Truth tries to join the women's team of the brand, then installs the men's team of Raw and then asks to be part of the men's team of the blue mark is a so much fun thing to do.
