Who knew that the end of the world would be so confusing? "American Horror Story: Apocalypse" debuted on Wednesday, leaving viewers with more questions than answers. But if you did not expect it already with the latest episode of the anthology series Ryan Murphy, you clearly have not learned how "AHS" works.

TheWrap has collected our biggest questions from the first episode of season 8 below. Hoping that they answer all before the end of the 10 episodes.

What is the cooperative?

Everything in "American Horror Story: Apocalypse" is centered on a group called The Cooperative that builds a series of outposts in case of nuclear war and transports people quickly before the bombs fall. And then they make everyone in the outposts dress like it's the 1800s or something. They also kidnapped teenagers who have good genes or something.

So how is it going?

What led to the end of the world?

The apocalypse itself was very vague – there was no mention about those who were launching nuclear bombs, just that they were hitting London, Hong Kong and Washington, DC before hitting Los Angeles. Was it a war? Or was it just a country – or an organization – that pushed the button? And could the cooperative have something to do with that?

What does it mean that nobody was flying this plane?

The big cold opening sequence ended with LA's death and the discovery by Billie Heavy's character that no one was flying the plane she was on. And then, the next time we see these characters, they are in the outpost and no one mentioned that "nobody was flying the plane," nor any explanation of how they had arrived. This seems to be an important point and something that will have to be addressed later.

What do Venable and Mead do differently than the Cooperative wants?

There is a great conversation in the middle of the episode between Mead (Kathy Bates) and Venable (Sarah Paulson) in which they discuss how they plan to lead Outpost 3 and how The Cooperative will not like what they have in reserve living under their roof. Presumably, part of this plan involved the murder of this guy Stu, then cooking his leftovers in a stew for the other residents.

But it seems unlikely that anything they want is limited to this kind of morbid mischief. It must be something serious enough that Venable is terrified when Mr. Langdon (Cody Fern) arrives.

What happened with Langdon's horses?

So, Langdon gets up with another person on a pair of horses, who looked sickly from being out in the nuclear fallout. After Langdon entered Outpost 3, the other person shot the horses and apparently offered them to something alive in the bush – something that managed to get the corpse out of the horse. So what?

What happened during that two-week period – and that 18-month period?

There are already two periods where we have no idea what happened, the first being a two week jump to the beginning of the episode and the other a jump 18 months in the middle. This means that we can not take into account certain parts of the time in which many horrible things have probably occurred. We can only assume that there will be flashbacks in the next few weeks.

How will "Coven" and "Murder House" continue to play in the season?

Until now, our only link to season 1 is Michael Langdon and there has been no scream for season 3 – and that will not go well with fans who have been waiting for years for the big season of the season. crossovers.

We know that many "Coven" witches will return to their roles this season, including Paulson, who will play the triple role of Venable, Cordelia of "Coven" and Billie Dean Howard of "Murder House".
