Elon Musk's Boring Company has reached a new milestone this week: it has completed digging its first tunnel in Los Angeles. Musk posted a video of the breakthrough on his Twitter account, showing the machine reaching the end point, which the company calls O'Leary Station.
The video shows a crowd gathered at the end point watching the machine pierce. In October, the boring company's Twitter account posted an image of the station, which ArsTechnica notes is named in the honor of a recently deceased SpaceX / Boring Company employee.

Work on the 3 km test tunnel began last year and earlier this month, Musk released an accelerated video of its drive, indicating that the tunnel should still be open to the public December 10th. The company has big plans for the region: it plans to dig new tunnels and recently got permission to build a prototype tunnel that would allow it to transport a car from the garage to the tunnel.
