Former Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is retired and has started a second career in the broadcast booth. In an interview with Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, he said he would retire to coach a single team, and only one: the Cleveland Brown.
"I would listen to the BrownsAriens says. "And only them."
Arians has been retired for less than a year, but the idea of coaching the Browns is so appealing that he would be ready to step back for themselves and for themselves.
This is not the first time that Arians is interested in Browns. He talked about it during a question and answer session in early November. But now it's more than a random idea: Arians said his wife, who was very supportive of his retirement in 2017, actually shares his interest in the Browns.
Arians is certainly not as exciting as Condoleezza Rice, but it makes more sense. He was the offensive coordinator for Cleveland from 2001 to 2003 and was part of the team in the only appearance of the Browns in the playoffs of the era of expansion. When Rapoport told him about Cleveland, Arians was effusive.
"I've always loved Cleveland," Arians said. "The fans, shoot, one of the best groups in the league and when I called their game this year, I had that feeling."
When asked if there were new talents on their list or if the fans were pushing him to want this post, Arians replied, "These are mainly fans."

Arians said the fans were one of the main attractions of the Browns coaching position, but it's hard to imagine he's not excited about quarterback Baker Mayfield. According to Rapoport, the Browns give priority to Mayfield in their search for coaches.
