BEREA, Ohio – Jimmy Haslam, owner of the Cleveland Browns, said the dismissal of coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley did not mean the team would give up this season.
"This is not a sponge," Haslam said Monday afternoon. "It's a reboot, if you will, an opportunity to give them a fresh start these past eight games."
Haslam and general manager John Dorsey said the Browns were focusing on the past eight games and were trying to help interim coach Gregg Williams win as much as he could.
"I think we put the organization in a better place today than it was yesterday," Haslam said. "And we are comfortable with the decision."
