HONOLULU – A hamburger restaurant in Hawaii closed after two employees posted a video showing them apparently preparing a rat on the grill.

Fox News announced that Teddy's Bigger Burgers had closed its Honolulu facility and that both employees of the video had been fired.

Richard Stula, president of Teddy's Bigger Burgers, said the company was investigating the authenticity of the video, which was posted on Snapchat.

"We are horrified by the fact that a former employee creates something like this by trying to destroy our reputation regardless of our more than 20 years of quality and aloha," he said. .

Stula said the company was consulting lawyers on possible lawsuits against employees who had filmed the video.

The brief video shows employees joking, as it seems like a rat is cooking on a restaurant grill.

On Friday, the state's health ministry inspected the restaurant, which will reopen after undergoing a "complete disinfection" with the replacement of all equipment and utensils, according to the company.
