On Thursday, a competitor of "Jeopardy" shocked the audience when he turned to his girlfriend, who stood in the bleachers, and asked him to marry him.

The host Alex Trebek went from person to person giving the audience and those watching at home information about the hosts. When Trebek went to Michael Pascuzzi's house, Trebek revealed that there was no information on his map.

Pascuzzi then took the microphone and said that he had something to ask.

"I just wanted to say one thing quickly, and ask Maria Shafer, right there, if she would make me a winner today and marry me?" "Do you want to marry me?"

Shafer, in tears, replied, "Yes, of course."

Shafer seemed to have ruined a joke that Trebek was going to make in the meantime, according to The Wrap.

"Maria, you answered too quickly. I was about to say that we will have the answer to this question right after this commercial break, "Trebek said.

This was not the only mistake that Shafer had made. She did not answer Pascuzzi in the form of a question.

"It would be, what is it?"
