A group of students made the anniversary of their beloved guard very special by learning to sing "Happy Birthday" in sign language.

Kindergarten children at Hickerson Elementary School in Tennessee surprised Mr. James Anthony, deaf, with an unforgettable rendition of the song as he entered their classroom on October 23 – his 60th birthday .

"Her reaction was ecstatic," said Allyssa Hartsfield, a kindergarten teacher, at "Good Morning America". "He cried, and of course we were moved with him." After it was over, he said: "It's the most beautiful birthday present you could have made." ;to offer."

Hartsfield said she and another kindergarten teacher, Amy Hershman, had combined their classes to teach the kids to sign the "happy birthday" to celebrate Anthony.

Anthony has been the keeper at Hickerson for 15 years, but he has been working in the school district for almost 30 years, Hershman told GMA. Anthony being deaf, the children wanted to learn how to wish him a happy birthday by using sign language.

"They really like it," Hershman said of his students. "The kids were super excited – they learned this song in probably five minutes."

Hickerson Elementary shared a video of the sweet performance on Facebook, where she was seen 128,000 times.

"[Mr. James] "Guys, I'm a little bit famous, I'm going to Hollywood then," says Hartsfield. "We did not realize it would attract so much attention, it really affected a lot of people."

Hartsfield and Hershman announced that they would continue to celebrate Anthony's birthday for years.
