Disney's new streaming service, called Disney +, will be launched in late 2019. And the entertainment company is relying on Loki, Cassian Andor and other characters from its vast portfolio to attract fans of the streaming champion and future rival Netflix.

Disney CEO Bob Iger toppled the beans on Thursday in an earnings conference call with investors. The new consumer online direct-to-consumer service will feature Disney's venerable eponymous studio, alongside Pixar, Marvel, the Star Wars franchise and National Geographic. In addition, thanks to the recent $ 71.3 billion acquisition of 21st Century Fox, Disney will also control 60% of Hulu and use Fox's assets to expand its content offering.

While it's still too early to determine what Disney might charge to potential subscribers, some of the content that will be available on Disney + is starting to take shape.

There will be a new live "Star Wars" series that Lucasfilms plans to put into production next year, where you can follow the adventures of the rebellious spy Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna, during the years trainers of the film. Rebellion and before the events of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story".

It has already been revealed that producer and actor Jon Favreau would write and produce "The Mandalorian", a series of real action scenes that will take place after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order.

Iger also confirmed that Marvel Studios is developing a series around the evil-folk god Loki, described by Tom Hiddleston.

And the Disney CEO told CNBC that thousands of hours of "library" products, including movies, TV shows and other content for Disney's hardcore fans, would be made available.

"It will be very brand-centric," Iger said. "We have the opportunity to lift the curtain and show them things they've never seen before, including a great documentary series about Walt Disney Imagineering." It's the division of the company that imagines Disney theme park attractions.

Disney + will also feature new stories in Disney Channel's "Monsters, Inc." and "High School Musical" universe.

Already in August 2017, Disney had announced that it would withdraw its Netflix movies, announcing a battle that could take the superheroes next year to determine the winner.

Disney + follows the launch earlier this year of ESPN + built around Disney's sports-driven multimedia property. Iger says the service has already earned more than a million paying subscribers.
