The next spin-off Roseanne, The Conners, has a new member.

"So excited to join this family! Catch me on #TheConners! she tweeted.

Showrunner Bruce Helford also confirmed the cast in a statement, stating to Variety: "We are delighted to welcome the incredible talent Maya Lynne Robinson into the cast this season.

"Her character, Second Lieutenant Geena Conner, who a young DJ was reluctant to kiss in his school game, went around his wife and mother, bringing back a little piece of the Story of Conner.

"Yet while Geena is no stranger to the family, viewers, old and new, will appreciate seeing how his" military style "discipline coincides with the more casual attitude of the Conners.

The official Twitter account of The Conners also shared the big news.

"The little girl that DJ hesitated to kiss grew up. Welcome to #TheConners @MissMayaLynne, read the tweet, as well as photos of their latest member.

Of course, Roseanne Barr will not feature in the upcoming spin-off.

ABC sacked Barr in May after tweeting that the old Obama aide, Valerie Jarrett, born in Iran and of African-American descent, looked like "the Muslim Brotherhood and the planet of apes had a baby.

She apologized several times for any offense committed by the tweet, as well as for the actors and crew of Roseanne, but she refuses to accept that she was racist.

In breaking an agreement with the network, she finally agreed that the show she created would continue with the other members of the cast and become The Conners.

Meanwhile, ABC President Channing Dungey revealed that Jarrett's tweet was only the last of a long series of problems with Roseanne who had sent her away.

Speaking of the decision, she told Deadline, "It was done very quickly. We knew what we wanted to do and we did it.

"For us, we had several instances with Roseanne, and this tweet has certainly crossed the line that can not be crossed, but for us, the feeling of sufficiency is enough and we had to do something.

"It was good that everyone understood that there was not much debate and discussion about this."

The Conners is scheduled for the premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 8 pm on ABC.
