A public vigil is organized for Mac Miller in the park that he named his first album in 2011, while questions remain about the cause of the rapper's death.

An autopsy was completed and Miller's body was handed over to his family, Los Angeles County Coroner's Office spokeswoman Sarah Ardalani said on Monday that an official cause of death would not be released until toxicological results returned. It can take months.

Miller, born Malcolm James McCormick, was found dead at his home in Los Angeles on Friday. He was 26 years old.

The rapper and former boyfriend of Ariana Grande would have had problems of addiction. (USA TODAY has contacted Miller representatives for more information.)

It's the struggle and the way he has tried to handle the problem – often in his music – that thousands of fans gather to honor and celebrate in Miller's hometown Tuesday night.

Nightfall Records, a Pittsburgh-based record company, will host the wake that will begin at 5 EDT's in Frick Park, also known as Blue Slide Park, the name of Miller's debut album.

"We would like to gather the city in full force for this legendary icon," the label announced on Facebook. "Mac deserves to be sent with an evening to celebrate his life, discuss his difficulties and remember his stories, especially for his iconic work that has brought joy into the lives of all those who love him. We are listening to you."

More than 2,000 fans have confirmed their presence.

Nightfall continued: "We welcome all the artists for them to come to paint, create, draw, pay tribute to the art for this event."

Miller released his fifth and final studio album, "Swimming" in August, which made his third-place Billboard 200 debut. He was scheduled to launch an American tour to promote the album next month.
