New details on the Rusape bus disaster indicate that the accident was not a frontal collision, but a side scan.
It also appeared that 46 people died, contrary to what had been announced previously, according to a balance sheet of 47 people.
According to the District Superintendent of Rusape, Isaac Gowe, an officer of the ZRP, 45 people died on the spot and one person died early this morning at the Rusape General Hospital.
The Republic of Zimbabwe's police are calling on the public to visit the Rusape General Hospital to identify the bodies of their loved ones.
Sixty-one people were injured.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Cde July Moyo, consoled the bereaved families and expressed her astonishment following the accident by declaring that the number of tragic casualties in human lives is unacceptable.
In a statement, Cde Moyo said that he had ordered the civil protection structures of the Manicaland province to quickly occupy affected people.
"A recommendation has been made to His Excellency the President to declare the accident a disaster," he said.
Minister Moyo said that the Directorate of Civil Protection was working with the Zimbabwe Insurance Board on providing assistance to the wounded and bereaved.
