The Detroit Lions train in the snow, letting players ask why.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. – The Detroit Lions do not play an outdoor match in cold weather for a month, but during a day in Michigan, with temperatures reaching 35 years and snowfall all day long, the lions of the day will not be able to play. team decided to train outside.

The 3-6 Lions play at home – in a climate-controlled Ford Field – Sunday against Carolina, then for Thanksgiving against Chicago and December 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. They will then travel to Arizona before traveling to Buffalo on December 16, a month or four games away from where Detroit is now.

Slay said that he was able to do his job for the day, but that training out in the snow was "tough". While he's used to playing in cold games – Detroit played in Green Bay and Chicago late in the year during his career – Thursday's practice was different because of the snow.

If Slay was the coach of Detroit, he would probably have taken a different approach.

"I'm not the coach, so, yeah," Slay said. "If I were the coach, yes, you know what we would do."

Lions coach Matt Patricia was not available to comment on why Lions have been training outside rather than indoors because he does not talk to the media on Thursday. His explanation will wait until Friday morning.

Return Garrette Blount hinted that the team had been trained outside to prepare for future games in cold weather.

"I mean, towards the end of the season, we will be in Green Bay and then in Buffalo," said Blount. "You know, then, you do not want to try to get ready for those of the week.It's a preparation thing, so you want to be ready for those when the time comes.You do not wanna wait and train outside for two or three days, then go for it and it's way colder than you expect.

"So, as I said, we attach it and we go, we grind and whatever it is, that is, and we just have to go."

Last month, while the Lions were training outside for two days outside, as they prepared to play in bad weather in Miami, Patricia explained somehow why he's training where he plays.

"There are advantages to going inside and out, no matter where you play, it does not matter." We practiced outside and played inside here at home, "said Patricia last month. Strategist Matthew Stafford has proposed a joking alternative theory to the question of what the team pulls from practice on the outside.

"I thought the coach wanted to do it to make you guys [the media] said Stafford. "But at some point we will have to play by that time and it will be important to be able to rely on representatives to work in today."
