MADISON, WIS. (WMTV) – The diocese of Madison confirmed the death of Robert C. Morlino, Bishop of Madison.

In an article on Facebook, the diocese said that Morlino had died Saturday, November 24 at 21:15. at St. Mary's Hospital, at the age of 71.

Morlino's death comes after his hospitalization as a result of a "cardiac event" the day before Thanksgiving.

The evening prayer vigil for Morlino at Holy Name Heights will continue and end on Sunday, November 25 at 8:00 am.
