Sunday night, more than eight million Britons listened to Jodie Whittaker's first appearance as a new doctor.
And judging by the reaction on Twitter, everyone seemed to like it.
Here are some of the many excitable reactions from the viewers of Doctor WhoFirst in series 11, "The woman who fell on Earth":
It was fantastic. #Doctor Who
After months and months of "the doctor should only be one man", the rubbish of the opponents – their incessant moans and their negativity immediately turned out to be nonsense irrelevant. Jodie nailed the character in seconds.
She is the doctor. 100%

It was a fantastic opening episode, and Jodie concluded that it was the Doctor. And after all that excitement, saving the Universe and all (well, Sheffield), I need a fried egg sandwich. #Doctor Who

Whittaker, in particular, has received heaps of praise:
Jodie is remarkable as #Doctor Who. Such dynamism and humor. Sheffield steel is perfectly Nordic, but with a galactic grain core that has gone through so many faces and lives. What a breath of fresh air. What that is funny. It's time
