Fatima Ali remains strong

AND recently met the old Excellent chef competitor, who opened about his heartbreaking battle with cancer and the ongoing support of his television family.

"I have finished filming Excellent chef last year. I had this pain in the shoulder, which was later diagnosed as a tumor, "she explained to ET. And this tumor, after his biopsy, was actually a form of cancer called Ewing's sarcoma. "

Earlier this year, the 29-year-old was declared cancer-free, only to find out in September that the rare form of cancer had returned.

"We were all stunned, because how can cancer reappear in two months? I had clear scans. I was almost there at the finish line, and now I was getting shot ", she recalls with emotion. "When my doctor told me that it was probably about a year without treatment, I knew I had to make sure that this year counts."

Ali explained that his cancer was back in a personal and candid article. "Honestly, as a chef, I'm so used to controlling everything and suddenly, I do not control anything in my life," she continued. "So it was a way for me to regain some control for myself."

Now, Ali makes the most of his situation and spends his time with his family, especially Excellent chef host Padma Lakshmi, who has been there for her during this difficult time.

Dear friends, I saw @cheffati grow and bloom every day when I entered @bravotopchef's kitchen. I saw the ambition of Fatima to strengthen over the weeks of competition, I saw it skyrocket with you all. Most of you will read Fatima's writings for the first time in this article by @bonappetit. Since her diagnosis, I've had the chance to know her more deeply and in a new light. During these months, I got to know his family. His mother showed me his older writing that is just as poignant. I am happy to share my friend's story with you all today. I am very proud of her. I can tell you that in recent months, I have not only seen her continue to find her voice, but she has been inspired by it exponentially. I got to know most of his family members and it's up to them that I see mine. I was at the hospital with her the morning she was operated on months ago and I witnessed her courage. The day after the publication of my @nytimes article, I went to see her and she encouraged me by holding my hand from the hospital bed, assuring me that I was not there. not escaped. Last night I was with her while she was irradiated. She always turned to smile at her mother and me when the nurse with the wheelchair came. I hope that this year will bring him all that she can hope for. You said in the series that growing up I inspired you. But Fati, it's you who inspires me. Everyday. I love you Fati.
