Gotham will be the framework for Birds of preybut he would not have his protector Batman. The return of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn finally takes shape. Deadline is responsible for breaking the castings of Winstead and Smollett-Bell, but also shared a new intriguing. The line in question says: "They join Margot Robbie who takes her back Suicide team role of Harley Quinn in a Gotham that is not protected by Batman. " Yes, that would mean that Gotham is the main place for Birds of preybut also wonder why Batman does not protect his city.
The first possibility that some might jump is that it shows Birds of prey is actually the last property of Elseworlds by WB and DC, like that of Joaquin Phoenix Joker. This is highly unlikely since Robbie is part of the continuity of the DCEU, so it would be even more confusing for casual fans to play the character in both the DCEU and in a story of Elseworlds. As a story of Elseworlds is not likely in the area of possibility, so where is Batman?
This could be the result of the whole Batman problem that has plagued the DCEU for a year and a half. Ben Affleck would like to go out and The Batman Director Matt Reeves is making a film that takes place in Bruce Wayne's youth. Since WB and DC do not yet know exactly what the Affleck or Batman have to offer, the simplest solution is not to circulate it. Does that mean after Justice League Batman left Gotham in a state of chaos? Perhaps, and that is perhaps why birds of prey are formed.
What we know about Birds of preyThe plot is that they would fight against Black Mask. Cassgirl's Cassandra Cain version would be at the center of the story, as it would have been taken by Black Mask, with the Birds of Prey on a rescue mission for the girl. Casting for Cain, Black Mask and even Renee Montoya have not arrived yet. These ads should be next for Birds of prey, and I hope these could bring more clarity to Gotham's scenery and the disappearance of Batman.
