A flight attendant from China Eastern Airlines would be out of work months after accepting a viral marriage request from her longtime boyfriend in mid-flight.
On September 10, Channel 8 reported that the unidentified flight attendant had received a letter of dismissal from the carrier in the mail regarding the May incident.
According to Asia One, about 30 minutes after take-off, the woman's boyfriend knelt in front of the plane and asked the question. In accepting this offer, the two men share a gentle embrace and the passengers applauded, in a video sequence that has since become viral on YouTube.

"I really did not know my buddy would offer me on this flight, thank you for being my witnesses," she said in the moment, according to Asia One.
Now, her job at China Eastern Airlines has been terminated due to concerns that she "neglected the safety of passengers".
According to Channel 8, the airline's letter stated that "private romantic behavior caused unrest among passengers" and was "extremely irresponsible for the safety of passengers".

Meanwhile, Asia One reports that the news has elicited mixed reactions among social media users in China. Some say that his dismissal was "inhuman" while others argue that the management of "private affairs" during working hours is false.
China Eastern Airlines representatives did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for additional commentary on the story.
