Tony Parker has no problem with former San Antonio Spurs teammate, Kawhi Leonard.

Parker, 36, agreed Friday to leave the Spurs after 17 seasons and sign a two-year, $ 10 million deal. contract with the Charlotte Hornets.

Parker told ESPN after departure that he never felt any tension with his former teammate.

"I have no problem with Leonard Kawhi," Parker said.

"We've never had an argument."

Leonard demanded an exchange on San Antonio after being limited to just nine games in 2017-18 because of a wounded right quad. He reportedly had a tense relationship with the Spurs throughout his rehabilitation process

Parker said in March that he had suffered a similar injury to Leonard but that it was "100 times worse" . These comments were Leonard's "last straw" with the Spurs, according to a recent report by ESPN

Parker said Friday that his words were taken out of context.

"I said yes because it was true." Parker told ESPN

"But that did not diminish the significance of his injury, he took over the franchise and I voluntarily gave up the torch of the franchise."

"It's very sad that the media took a quote and I felt that I did not want to play with him.He was the face of the franchise."

The Spurs would have spoken with the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers about a potential deal for Leonard.
