The man who – along with his girlfriend – is accused of spending $ 400,000 for a homeless veteran was arrested Monday in New Jersey on an unrelated warrant, the authorities said.
Mark D'Amico, 39, was arrested at his home and taken to Burlington County Jail, the Florence County Police Department wrote on Facebook. D'Amico was released Tuesday after paying a $ 500 bond, WPIX-TV reported in New York.
Police confirmed that the warrant was not related to the GoFundMe investigation.
The warrant was issued in October 2017, when police said he drove with a suspended license, failed to suspend his license and drove a vehicle with a broken rear light, WPVI reported. TV.
D'Amico did not appear in court for this quote and was arrested in May 2018, the station reported. He was released on bail, but has not been tried in July yet. Police said they re-issued the warrant and arrested it on Monday.

D'Amico and McClure earlier denied that they had committed wrongdoing or abused money, saying they were reluctant to give Bobbitt large sums because they feared buying drugs.
Ernest Badway, the couple's lawyer, said Monday they could be charged in this case.
"(Since), it is expected that one or both of the accused will probably be charged, my company and I will no longer be able to continue to represent them in this case," Badway wrote. .
Chris Fallon, Bobbitt 's attorney, said earlier he received about $ 75,000 in cash. But Badway said Bobbitt had about $ 200,000.
Last week, GoFundMe announced that it would ensure that Bobbitt would get the full amount owed, whether or not the civil lawsuit recovers money, reported NJ.com.
No charges were laid in the GoFundMe dispute.
