A private funeral service marked by scriptures, music and celebrities took place Wednesday for Burt Reynolds, the movie star of Palm Beach County.
Reynolds, who came to the county as a youngster and kept a connection with him throughout his acting career and director in Hollywood, passed away Sept. 6 at the age of 82. .

Wednesday's service – "A Celebration of Burt Reynolds's Life," according to a program published online – was held at the Family Church Downtown on South Flagler Drive, just south of the Royal Park Bridge.
Depending on the program, there were musical performances by guitarist Cooper Getschal and pianist Copeland Davis. Broadway performer Avery Sommers sang "Amazing Grace" and singer Ariel Hermoso "I Can Only Imagine". Jimmy Scroggins, the long-time pastor of the church, offered a message of hope.
