In volatile trading sessions with contradictory signals, investors need "some kind of totem that can help us move in the right direction," said CNBC's Jim Cramer.
The host "Mad Money" suggests that investors are looking for large purchases of insiders.
While insiders sell for all kinds of reasons, they only buy for one reason: "make money," Cramer said.
Five IBM board members recently bought shares in the company, including CEO Ginni Rometty, who bought more than $ 3 million worth of shares. The purchase of Rometty, his first on the free market, indicates "a real commitment," Cramer said.
