Prince Louis, the youngest child of Prince William and Duchess Kate, will be baptized at St. James's Palace. Here is an overview of some of the most memorable baptisms of the royal family.

The close friend of Prince William and Prince Harry, Nicholas van Cutsem, and Duchess Kate's cousin Lucy Middleton, were named two of godfathers of Prince Louis of Cambridge Monday. the Royal Chapel of St. James's Palace in London, where brother Prince George was baptized in 2013.

The 11-week-old baby prince, born April 23, is the third child of Prince William and Duchess Kate of Cambridge, and the fifth in line to the throne. He will be baptized in a traditionally private ceremony in the chapel with a small portion of his royal and Middleton parents present, plus the godparents.

Kensington Palace announced the names of sponsors early Monday. They are:

  • Nicholas van Cutsem
  • Guy Pelly
  • Harry Aubrey-Fletcher
  • Lady Laura Meade
  • Hannah Carter
  • Lucy Middleton

Expected to attend the ceremony are the parents of the baby, William and the old Kate Middleton; Prince George, who will be 5 years old on July 22; and Princess Charlotte, 3, who was baptized in July 2015 at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the royal estate in Sandringham in Norfolk

The baby prince will wear the handmade replica of the royal baptismal dress. The Victoria dress was commissioned by Queen Victoria for her eldest daughter, Princess Victoria, who was baptized in 1841.

Queen Elizabeth II, 92, will rule the royal family and her husband, Prince Philip, will mark his baptism. great grandchild. Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, and his wife, Duchess Camilla of Cornwall, will be there to see his third grandson welcomed into the Church of England, which the Queen directs.

Also expected: Prince Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan of Sussex, the former American actress who was baptized at the Royal Chapel shortly before their wedding on May 19.

In attendance: Middleton's grandparents, Michael and Carole Middleton; his aunt, Pippa Middleton Matthews and her husband, James Matthews, who are expecting a baby in the fall; and his uncle, James Middleton

The baptism should closely follow the ceremonies of the two older children of Will and Kate, with the ancient Lily Font in silver and the handmade replica of the baptismal gown in 177 years old royal lace.

After a 40-minute ceremony, the party should go to Clarence House – a royal residence in central London – for a private tea. The guests will be served baptism cake – a level taken from the wedding cake of Prince William and Duchess Kate.

The seven godparents of Prince George included old family friends, a royal cousin, college buddies, and loyal staff. The best known is Zara Phillips Tindall, Will's cousin, the eldest granddaughter of the Queen and daughter of Princess Anne, the Princess Royal. Married to former rugby player Mike Tindall, Zara has just given birth to their second child, Lena Elizabeth, seventh great-grandchild of the queen

The five godparents of Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana include the niece of his late grandmother, Princess Diana. Laura Fellowes, a cousin of William, is the daughter of Lady Jane Fellowes, Diana's sister; she gave a reading at the wedding of Harry and Meghan.
