The four humans are back on Earth The right place launches season 3 … so where is the fork going from here?
The first of a day on Thursday begins with a look back at Michael explaining his "experience" to a "doorman" with little fun (played by Joy alum Mike O'Malley) before he is allowed to pass through a magical gold portal on Earth, where he intervenes to save the lives of Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason. Michael returns exalted – "I saw this place that was both a Pizza Hut and a Taco Bell! The spirit ignites! But his mood darkens when he sees the foursome striving to become better people. He thinks it would help if the four were together again, and decided to "nibble" them in that direction. So while Judge Gen is busy watching NCISMichael tells the porter that she has allowed another visit to Earth (she did not do so), which leads to her role as a bartender with Eleanor, which brings us to the Eleanor-Chidi meeting that ended season 2.
Eleanor explains to Chidi her impending death experience, her brief stint as a benefactor, and how her YouTube speech inspired her after her fall from moral chaos. She asks him to be his moral guide and when he says yes, Michael and Janet exchange an inch in life after death. We also have an answer to the nagging question that Chidi speaks French when he speaks French to a colleague, explaining that it is his mother tongue, but he also speaks English, German, Greek and Latin "just in case where he would come back. (Eleanor, in comparison, got a perfect score on a Buzzfeed quiz on Kardashian slang … she admits to having cheated, though.)
But why does Chidi want to help Eleanor? As he explains, he had his own near-death experience with a falling air conditioner and, fearing that his "brain" would be shattered by his paralyzing indecision, he turns to Simone, a professor of neuroscience at his university. Kill the day beforeKirby Howell-Baptiste, for help. She gives him an MRI and, once he sees that there is nothing structurally wrong in his brain, Chidi launches into a coup, forsaking his thesis too long … and spending more and more time with Simone. But his ominous speech that leads his friend Henry to take his tendons to the gymnasium's leg – and to hear that the blueberries of his favorite muffin are being harvested by abused migrant workers – brings Chidi back to his undecided funk. It takes a speaker Michael, wearing a shaky Australian accent, to convince Chidi to "get out of his head" and "help someone else" … just before Eleanor enters his office.
While Eleanor reimburses Chidi by encouraging her to ask Simone once she will see the spark between them ("You are both teachers … who are hot for the teacher! Shawn furiously searches for the missing quartet. His henchmen try to infiltrate Gen's computer system to find out how the four men are doing on Earth, locking everyone who dares to disobey him in a sticky cocoon. Finally, a worker sees that Michael's frequent return to Earth has opened a backdoor in Gen's system, and Shawn catches Michael "with his hand in the human jar" (keep this idea because it's coming back strongly).
Chidi is struck by a new thesis idea: he will examine the impact of impending death experiences on ethical decision-making and will make a joint study with the department of Simone. And his test subjects include … Tahani! After saving by a statue of her sister Camilla (of course, Camilla saved her), Tahani embarked on an altruistic journey, disposing of her possessions and throwing herself into a Buddhist retreat. (Not even first class!) There, she humbly meditates and sweeps the floor until she meets a documentary director who wants to profile her and her "monk junk". Get out of the spotlight "and fully enjoy the celebrity that accompanies it. Once again, Michael intervenes, this time as a New Age scammer who sells "nirvana orbs", aka "golf balls I painted silver" and directs them to the Chidi study .
And what about Jason? Our favorite fake monk is saved from asphyxiation during Michael's ill-planned robbery attempt, but he manages to miss all the big horns that Michael leaves for him. He ends up forming a new dance team ("We're going to eat, breathe and dance the vape!"), But they keep missing every competition and, needing money to rent the dance space, Jason falls back in the life planned crime, leading to his arrest. When Michael calls him Zack Pizzazz (ha!), A talented international recruiter, Jason refuses to travel to Australia: "I know it sounds crazy, but I'm starting to think that life on the street is bigger than amateur dance. Michael abandons the act and proposes to present it to friends who are going through the same kind of existential crisis as him.
So, the four humans are reunited by the Chidi study … everything is fine, right? Well, maybe not. First, Judge Gen begins to sniff Michael and Janet's ticks, forcing them to distract the NCIS fan with a Mark Harmon movie to get it out of the way. But just as they avoid this ball, they see that Chidi has welcomed a fifth person to the study … and Michael feels that "something very dark and evil" is approaching. The new member of the study comes in: It's Trevor, the demon of the bad place played by Adam Scott! I do not know if I'm more in love with this ingenious intrigue … or more worried about the fate of our hard core.
Good jokes
