Health authorities said they were informed of an E. coli 026 outbreak on August 16 and determined that raw ground beef was the likely source.
Seventeen diseases and one death were identified from July 5th to July 25th.
If you have any of the products involved, the USDA urges you not to eat them. They must be discarded or returned to the store where they were purchased.
E. coli is known to cause stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting and fever.
Symptoms usually go away within a week, but some people can develop life-threatening illnesses.
Infections can develop the day after the infection and up to 10 days later. Most people start getting sick within three to four days.
