The extra spooky Halloween costume of this little girl definitely puts the "thing" at stake.

Some kids might be wizards, superheroes, and Disney characters, but not that kid. Maya, a little girl from Southbay Village in the Philippines, went viral on social media after posting online photos and videos of her headless Halloween costume.

Maya's mother, Krystel Hwang, posted a video on Instagram of her daughter dressed as a floral dress, carrying her head "decapitated" on a plate. "My sweet adorable headless Maya," Hwang said in Instagram with an emoji in his heart.

So how did the little Maya actually get her candy when her hands were busy holding her head on a tray? Hwang posted another video of Maya being tricked into a treat in the uncluttered part of the costume, swapping a typical pumpkin basket for a much more macabre option.

Hwang also lets people know that the Maya costume was not bought in stores.

"For those who ask … Yes, I made her headless costume," wrote Hwang in a follow-up post. "Maya was excited and super-playful with everything, even when I had to wrap her with straps and strips of duct tape to form the fake body. What a rider!"
