Some couples have the best stories about how they met.
Maybe it was a chance meeting in a bookstore. Maybe it was a crush on high school. Maybe they met online.
Georgia Bulldogs running back Prather Hudson tried to write his own story earlier this week.
Hudson was the Georgian player responsible for meeting with ESPN sideline journalist, Laura Rutledge, during a match Sunday.
Rutledge was found in line of sight when Hudson and another crossed the sideline and wiped it out.
So, Hudson decided to use his new fame to try to attract Rutledge to an appointment.
Excuse us for mixing sporting metaphors here, but shoot your shot, as the kids say.
Unfortunately, this may not work well for Hudson.
Rutledge has responded to his offer, but it does not appear that a date is imminent.
She is already married to baseball player Josh Rutledge.
This response led Hudson to take a beating in his Twitter mentions.
Meeting her future wife and overthrowing her at a football match is not the most moving beginning of a relationship, but it's still a better story than the end of "How I met your mother".
