The IHO is already back to calling IHOP

On June 11, the International House of Pancakes made a big announcement: they changed their name to "IHOb", at least temporarily, for "International House of Burgers", and unveiled a new product on the menu. (A hamburger, of course – or, in the language of IHOb, an "Ultimate Steakburger.")

Although the change had a lot of hype online, and resulted in brick sites -and-mortar exchange their signage in favor of the brand new name for the ubiquitous restaurant chain, it was not intended to last long. And on Monday, the IHOb returned to its original name from the IHOP

"We really aberrated the fidelity to the burger, but we're back to the IHOP", announced the Twitter account of the IHOb. (The alternative brand thing had replaced "P" with "B" in all their language, which explains the unusual spelling.)

When a Twitter user joked that their change of heart (and of name) should not be fine, IHOP itself had an answer: "The blan was to get people to talk about our new hamburgers, and that worked." Look at us, two idiotic crepes talking of hamburgers, "they explained from their marketing round almost a month.

The plan seems to have made people talk – after all, now we all know that IHOP serves both their traditional pancakes and, yes, a hamburger. I hope that no one is too attached to the alternative name "IHOb" in the process. But if you have already consulted the burger, and you are a fan of this particular dish, the good news is that it seems that the menu item remains at least in place.
