After the tumult of Black Friday, buyers are still on the street this weekend for Small Business Saturday.

"When you do local business, you have to talk to people, see what they do and what they put in," said customer Cosmo Renna. "You see all the work and it's great!"

Today's small business event spans three floors at Sky Armory in downtown Syracuse.

Navy veteran Rich Schuler launched "Riches Apiary" about five years ago. A passion for bees and honey that led him for the first time to Small Business Saturday.

"I think it gives you a little more initiative," Schuler said. "This is your name and people see your different products. They can buy locally instead of buying imported honey."

At the top, we found Michala Schram, who just went official in April with his company 'Jade & Stone Design'. The lettering artist said that she already feels the support of New Yorkers from the center.

"It's really nice and comforting to see people dedicate their time to small businesses," Shram said. "In this area, I've noticed that people really take the time to hear what you are doing and what you have to say."

It was the sixth year of Saturday in Syracuse for the small business. The day was created in 2010 to draw attention to local businesses during the holidays.
