A judge on Sunday ordered a 15-year-old from DeBary, who, according to authorities, confessed to strangling his mother, to remain in juvenile detention until the next hearing of the case, according to a local prosecutor's office.

Volusia County MPs arrested Gregory Logan Ramos on Saturday over the murder of his mother, 46-year-old Gail Cleavenger. Authorities said they fought for a bad note Gregory had received at school when he strangled her to death and got help from two of her friends to help her bury her body and to organize a flight.

Gregory's two friends, both 17, are accused of being an accomplice to a crime after the fact, the authorities said.

The two teenagers were released Sunday under home surveillance and required to wear an ankle monitoring device, said Seventh Circuit prosecutor spokesman Spencer Hathaway.

"The decision to charge the accused to adulthood has not yet been made," said Hathaway. "It's too early in the process to make that call."
