FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Dedrick Devonshay Williams claims that he had nothing to do with the death of rapper Jahseh "XXXTentacion" Onfroy, 20, last week after leaving the Riva Motorsports at Deerfield Beach.
Detective John Curcio believes that Williams, a 22-year-old tattoo artist, was wearing a pair of bright orange sandals and bought a red mask.
Williams appeared in Broward County Court Monday in Fort Lauderdale for a hearing on a probation violation charge in a car theft case. Prosecutors also accused him of first degree murder.
Curcio believes that Williams used an SUV to prevent Onfroy from driving in his electric BMW, and he and an accomplice were both armed when they faced Onfroy on 18 June.
MPs arrested Williams at Pompano Beach on Wednesday. They are still searching for Williams' alleged accomplice.
A public memorial with open casket viewing will take place from 12:00 to 18:00, Wednesday at the BB & T Center at 2555 NW 136 Ave., Sunrise.
