The Latest: No verdict during the trial of the pregnant woman

FARGO, N.D. – The last on the trial of William Hoehn, accused of conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Savanna Greywind (all local times):

A North Dakota jury returned home for the day without a quick verdict for a man accused of conspiring in the murder of a pregnant woman whose baby was cut from her belly.

The jurors deliberated for about 90 minutes before arriving at the end of the day Thursday in the trial of William Hoehn (hayn). He is charged with conspiracy to commit murder in August 2017 when Savanna Greywind died.

Hoehn admitted to helping his girlfriend at the time, Brooke Crews, to cover up the crime. But he says that he knew nothing of his plans to achieve it.

The crews testified that when Hoehn fell on the bloody stage in the couple's apartment bathroom, he took a rope and squeezed it around his neck to make sure that She was dead.

Hoehn denied that.

The jury returns Friday morning.

The prosecutor said that Hoehn and Crews "drew up a plan and executed it".

Closing arguments are scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Judge Tom Olson rejected a motion by the defense for a nil trial at the end of Hoehn's testimony.
