Sorrentino was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of tax evasion in January.
The 36-year-old Long Branch resident from Manalapan admitted to concealing part of his income so as not to pay his entire tax bill in 2011.
Sorrentino said he made cash deposits into bank accounts of less than $ 10,000 so as not to attract the attention of the Internal Revenue Service. Banks are required to file statements with the US Treasury regarding cash deposits in excess of $ 10,000.
