La rivière Llano devrait atteindre un niveau similaire mercredi alors que les opérations de sauvetage se poursuivent
Au moins un corps a été retrouvé alors que les autorités menaient des opérations de secours et se préparaient à de nouvelles inondations mardi après-midi dans tout le Hill Country.
Les météorologues affirment que la rivière Llano, qui a frôlé un niveau record mardi, sera à nouveau à son apogée mercredi matin.
Les sous-ministres du bureau du shérif du comté de Burnet ont enlevé le corps des eaux de crue du lac Lyndon B. Johnson vers 13 heures. près de Kingsland, selon Spectrum News à Austin.
Les équipes de recherche et de sauvetage Texas Game Warden sont désormais impliquées dans plusieurs opérations de sauvetage aérien et nautique le long de la rivière alors que les appels de service arrivent "les uns après les autres", selon un Tweet du ministère.
Christy Baught, administrateur de la plaine inondable du comté de Llano, a déclaré que d'autres agences locales participent également aux opérations de sauvetage, car les inondations ont mis les résidents en grave danger.
"La rivière Llano a atteint un niveau d'inondation historique majeur", lit-on dans un article du bureau de gestion des urgences du comté de Llano. "Il est actuellement à 40 'et a presque dépassé le pont de Llano. Toute personne vivant à moins de 1/4 de kilomètre de la rivière devrait évacuer immédiatement vers les hauteurs."

La rivière Llano a atteint son apogée à midi à 39,9 pieds, juste en deçà du record de 1935 de 41,5 pieds. Le Service météorologique national prédit que la crête du mercredi matin atteindra une "hauteur similaire".
Le gouverneur du Texas, Greg Abbott, a ordonné au Centre des opérations de l’État du Texas de se préparer davantage à la suite des inondations.
"Lorsque les conditions météorologiques seront rigoureuses, le Texas s'assurera que nos intervenants et les responsables locaux disposent des éléments nécessaires pour réagir et protéger les personnes menacées", a-t-il déclaré. "I also urge all Texans to take their safety in hand by closely monitoring weather conditions and taking into account warnings from local officials."
Les inondations ont entraîné la fermeture de plusieurs routes et ponts de la région. Vers 9 h 30, le pont FM 2900 de Kingsland (Texas) s’est effondré sous la pression des eaux de crue, selon un rapport publié par KEYE-TV à Austin.
Le Service météorologique national a rapporté mardi matin que plus de 10 pouces de pluie avaient inondé des parties du bassin versant de la rivière Llano depuis lundi matin. L'eau s'est précipitée dans la rivière, la faisant grimper à des niveaux presque sans précédent.
Le Service météorologique national a émis un avertissement d'inondation éclair pour les comtés de Gillespie et de Llano jusqu'à 19 heures. Mardi et un avertissement d'inondation le long de la rivière Llano dans le comté de Llano, de Sandy Creek près de Kingsland et de la rivière Pedernales à Johnson City.
La rivière Llano est dans une phase d'inondation majeure, ce qui signifie qu'il y aura "une inondation importante de structures et de routes". Une telle étape nécessite "des évacuations importantes de personnes et / ou un transfert de propriété vers des altitudes plus élevées", selon le site Web de NWS.
Selon Baught, la direction du bureau des urgences du comté de Llano a installé des abris dans la première église baptiste de Llano, Inman's Kitchen et le centre communautaire de Kingsland. Elle ne savait pas si quelqu'un manquait à la tempête.
Les inondations ont également touché d'autres rivières du comté de Hill. Le Service météorologique national a déclaré que les rivières Guadalupe, Sandy Creek et Nueces sont confrontées à une "situation dangereuse".

Selon l'Austin américain américain, les maisons situées à proximité de Robinson City Park, de Scotts Acres, de Castell, du pont FM 2900 à Kingsland, de Kingsland Lodge et de Marble Falls devraient subir de graves inondations.

The Hill Country and other portions of South Central Texas have been hammered by heavy rain and flooding this month. Last week, four people were swept away as flood waters rushed through Junction, Texas, after storms dumped almost a foot of rain into the South Llano River. Three victims have been found and authorities on Monday temporarily called off the search for the fourth until the rain passed.
Patrick Ojeda was swept away on Friday as he tried to drive across a bridge over the Sabinal River in Uvalde County. He was found a mile downstream.
