The walls of the Republican Party Headquarters in Winnebago County, Illinois, were vandalized on Saturday night. The person or persons who vandalized the building painted "rape" and "shame" around the perimeter of the seat.
The county's Republican leaders believe this is the result of the charges against Judge Brett Kavanaugh and subsequent hearings.
Rep. John Cabello shared the images on his Facebook page, with a message for the opposition:
"This type of behavior is unacceptable and certainly not up to the values of our community. We all have differences, but we have to learn not to agree on a policy without attacking people, "Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara told WREX-TV.
Any earlier version of this story incorrectly indicated that it had occurred in Wisconsin. This took place in Illinois.
