The majority of Trump supporters believe that racism is "acceptable"

Monday evening GQ corresponding Julia Ioffe continued to speak against the president Donald Trump for his treatment of the shooting in the synagogue by pursuing his followers.

"You can not overestimate the power of the president's chair of intimidation," Ioffe said. "You know, the things that he says and the ones he does not say and the way he says them."

She then accused Trump of condemning the racists as "shy", comparing it to "a child forced to do something on the part of his parents".

"And you know, I must say that it's not fair, you know, monsters … who hear that, take an AR-15 that they can buy as easily as a package of cigarettes, "Ioffe told CNN Don Lemon. "It's also a bit of a silent majority of Trump's supporters who think that all is well, they continue to support this president despite what he said."

"Do you think it's a silent majority of fans?" Lemon asked.

"Yes," replied Ioffe.

"Why do you think that?" Lemon followed.

"I think there have been so many moments we've talked about in the media, such as Trump's comments, his moral equivocation after Charlottesville, and, to the extent of the past, say, many decades, we say it's irreproachable. There is no way for voters to support that. There is no way that people continue to support Trump after that. And yet, they do, "continued Ioffe. "I mean, his nationwide approval ratings are not great, but among the Republicans, they are exorbitant after all of this, after his attacks on the media as enemies of the people, saying that there were very good people among the neo-Nazis and neo-confederates marching in Charlottesville.I think it also counts … And as we have seen in some of the darkest chapters of history counts as much as authors, it's the people who turn their eyes, look away and say, "You know, at least we have our tax cuts."

"You put your finger on the head," Lemon agreed. "If it is not, if they do not support it, you said the silent majority, they ignored it, they activated it."
